The great thing about Plex is they keep the Windows versions of their media player up to date with the Plex apps for other platforms which means you don’t have to wait months for an update to the Windows and Windows Phone versions of the their apps (unlike many other developers).

Plex have just updated the Windows and Windows Phone versions of their app adding a few new features. On Windows with this update there is an updated HTTP Live streaming stack (which should improve video playback), you can now set the default quality syncing for each media type and use the backspace key to navigate back. Fixes in the update include remembering changes in music volume and a fix for PIN entries.

On the phone there is also the updated HTTP live streaming improvements and media preferences as well as an option to keep the display on while the app is running.

The app is a universal app and you can find the Windows version in the Windows Store and the Windows Phone version in Windows Phone Store.
