Microsoft have released build 9926 of Windows 10 for users in the Windows Insiders program. On the Windows Insider Blog Gabe Aul says that the new build has some of the new featured shown on Wednesday’s event but not all of them. This release does include Cortana on the desktop including always listening for “Hey Cortana” (if you enable it) and is for US English only. There is also the new Start menu including Continuum for switching between tablet and desktop mode, there is a new settings app, improved connectivity to wireless audio and video devices including better discovery of Miracast and Bluetooth devices.

Some of the new apps shown off this week are in the new build including the new photos and Maps and there is a new Windows Store app that is being previewed, the old app remains for now. Also in the build is the new Xbox app which you can read more about on Xbox Wire. Plus there are also changes responding to user feedback.

There are some issues in this build which you can read about on the blog post. I am updating my old HP TouchSmart PC and installing it on my Toshiba Encore 8 tablet, this will be a good opportunity to try out the tablet features.
