If you are thinking of getting started with Media Browser Server there is now another platform you can try it on. There is now an Ubuntu package of Media Browser available so you can install the server on the Ubuntu flavour of Linux. This gives you option of building a cheap Linux box running Ubuntu and using it as a media server, installation is simple you can use the Linux standard apt-get commands:

Trusty:

– sudo add-apt-repository ppa:apps-z/mediabrowser
– sudo apt-get update
– sudo apt-get install mediabrowser
– service mediabrowser start
– visit http://localhost:8096/mediabrowser

 

So there is no excuse for not giving Media Browser a try, head to the download page for more info.
