Recently Skype have been updating the updating the mobile versions of their app adding new chat features and a flatter UI and now they have turned their attention to the desktop versions. Skype for Mac 7.0 and a new preview of Skype for Windows have been redesigned with a new UI and new sharing and chat features. The UI has a cleaner, flatter look with a better layout for the contacts list and side by side view while you are in a call so you can share messages, photos or files while on a voice or video call. There is a new bubble style chat and there is improved file sharing, it now displays the relevant icon for the file type.
There was a time when the Skype UI was a complete mess and sometimes you had to hunt around for simple actions like ending a call, over the last year or so the UI has vastly improved and the latest update makes it look even better.
