For the last few months it has been rumoured that Microsoft were to release some kind of smart watch and last night Microsoft announced is wearable device called the Microsoft Band. It’s not a really a watch it’s a health band that monitors sleep and exercise and connects up to Microsoft’s health service. The Microsoft Band costs $199 in the US and works for two ways without charging. It tracks heart rate, calories, sun exposure and stress and provides notifications. The nice thing about Microsoft’s Band is that it will connect up with Windows Phone, Android and iOS apps and with Windows Phone you can use it with Cortana to take notes and keep up with notifications.

It looks a very nice device and the ability to get notification on it means I am really interested in trying one out, sadly its US only at the moment and there are no details on whether it will make its way across to the UK.
