Over the weekend I had chance to play with Inatecks’s new Waterproof Bluetooth speaker. The BCSP20 is a small portable speaker that is that is sized just a little bigger than an Apple TV (85mm x 85mm x 46mm) and feels very solid with its rubberised case and honeycomb shell. It has a MicroUSB port for charging (500mAh lithium polymer battery) which I found I lasted for around 6 hours on a full charge, it also has a 3.5mm audio input so you can use it with any device with a headphone socket. I paired it up with my Android phone and it worked very well, as well as audio playback it will also work as a hands free devices for Skype calls or a phone call, you can press a button on the speaker it will pause the music and take the call. Pairing up is really easy just hold down the power button for 6 seconds and then scan for Bluetooth devices on your device, the speaker Bluetooth 3.0 compliant and has a range of around 10 meters.

As ever most important thing with a speaker is sound quality and for a device of this size the audio quality is very good, it has a clear sound the bass is reasonable and the volume range is pretty good. You can control playback volume from the buttons on the device.

Inateck say its splash proof (IPX5 water resistant) so it would be an ideal device to have around the pool on holiday, on the beach or in the bathroom. It comes with a suction cup so you hang up it, USB charging cable and 3.5mm audio cable.

For £29.99 (on Amazon) it’s a nice little speak to have with you by the pool, in garden or bathroom. The sound quality is very good for the size and the hand free feature is handy to have.

Here is my first look at the device and for more information head over to Inateck.com
