Over the weekend XBMC 13 Gotham was released which brought many new features and one of the many changes is improvement performance on the Raspberry Pi. For my Raspberry Pi I switch between OpenELEC and Raspbmc which has just been updated. The new version includes XBMC 13 and some other new changes including experimental external sound card support, JPEG texture improvements, support for DVD menus and encrypted DVDs plus HDMI- CEC improvements.

To get the update just reboot the Raspberry Pi and it should update the install.
