GooglePlayer is a great app for playing a wide range of video formats on your iOS device, it will stream from file shares, UPNP servers and transfer via iTunes and supports HDMI, VGA and Video Mirroring.
The latest update adds Chromecast support so you can find play local or network files and send them to the Chromecast device. It is a very handy app to have in your collection and especially if you have a Chomecast.
