Last week at the Gadget Show Live we got to talk to the great people from Musaic.

Musaic is a soon to close funding Kickstarter project which promises to be a real competitor to Sonos in the whole home audio field. Engineered from the ground up to be able to stream music uncompressed and with the ability to provide 24/196 streams this is sure to be a hit with those people who like high quality audio.

We were very impressed with what we saw. The player devices look very neat with two models being initially offered the MP5 and MP10. The latter has a built in subwoofer and appears to really pack a punch.

What really impressed us was how the system could fully integrate into a home automation system – it already has the ability to control LightWave RF and will soon integrate with other products through its membership of the AllSeen Alliance™, run by the Linux Foundation. Musaic is a founder member along with brands such as Qualcomm, HTC, AT&T Digital Life, LG, Panasonic, Haier, Cisco, D-Link, Sharp. LIFX and Wigwag.
