My Movies the movie collection manager service has arrived in the Windows Store. The app enables you to manage your My Movie collection from a Windows device. You can use the device camera to add movies to your collection via the barcoded, you can keep track of movies you have watched and you can use the app as a remote control for the Windows Media Center version of My Movies. The app doesn’t have any downloading or watching features but it’s great for managing your collection.

UPDATE:

If you connect up to My Movies 5 for Windows (or the server version) and if the title has been converted via the video converter you can play them in the app or download them for watching offline.

There is a trial version (limited to 50 titles) and the full version costs £4.99 from the Windows Store.

My Movies allows you to catalog your entire movie collection from our assumable world’s best international database of more than 750,000 DVD, Blu-ray and HD DVD titles. If you have one or more titles that are not in our service, you can report it and it will be created within 48 hours by our staff.

The trial version is limited to 50 titles, but otherwise identical to the full version.

My Movies requires you to create a user account, or log in using Facebook to be able to use the program. Your collection will follow your account through our online servers, allowing you to switch between clients without losing your data – we also have clients available for Windows Phone, iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows and Mac OS X.

With My Movies, you can keep track of movies you own, previously have owned, rented or movies you wish to purchase. Never again will you have to purchase or rent a movie twice.

  1. Minor correction – from the application page:

    Play or Download

Connect the application to My Movies 5 for Windows or My Movies Home and Essentials Server Solution, and for all titles converted with the video converter, either directly play the titles in-house, or download titles to the device to watch at any time, without the requirement of an internet connection.
