Last week Microsoft added offline plackback features to the iOS version of the Xbox Music app and today the Android version gets the same feature. The iOS version had the limitation that only playlists were available offline so you couldn’t just download an album you had to create a playlist. The Android version has the same limitation, only playlists are available offline but still it’s a great feature especially if you don’t want to use up all your mobile data allowance on music streaming.

The app is free from the Google Play Store but you do need an Xbox Music pass subscription to be able to use it.

What’s New

• Make your playlists available offline, and listen to your favorite music on the metro, or in a plane!

• Play your whole collection; play all by genre now available
