Microsoft have been pretty good releasing monthly updates for the Surface range. Surface Pro 2 owners are waiting for a fix to the battery issues from last month’s update but unfortunately there is nothing from Microsoft yet. The only updated for Surface owners this month are for the original Surface Pro, the two updates are firmware for the Surface Type Cover 2 and Surface Touch Cover 2. The update improves the keyboard and touchpad performance on both keyboards on devices running Windows 8.
Details from the Surface update page:
January 2014 updates
Windows 8.0 updates
Surface Type Cover 2 Firmware Update Device, version 1.0.279.0
These updates improve the experience of using a second generation Surface Cover on your first generation Surface Pro running Windows 8.0, including touchpad performance and overall product stability.
Surface Touch Cover 2 Firmware Update Device, version 1.0.280.0
These updates improve the experience of using a second generation Surface Cover on your first generation Surface Pro running Windows 8.0, including touchpad performance and overall product stability.
@isdixon have you seen the live tv stuff that’s going to be coming to mb3?
@scottisafool @isdixon I haven’t, and I’d be interested. still haven’t found a viable alternative to WMC.
@CraigHawker @isdixon well our live tv uses WMC (we are looking at other providers too)
@scottisafool @isdixon but MB3 may support it? DVB-T2/DVB-S2?
@CraigHawker @isdixon screenshot of the guide in the web client 🙂 http://t.co/avfHmZlmOs
@CraigHawker @isdixon and a few more 🙂 http://t.co/m7poqWPQdw
@scottisafool @isdixon looks beautiful. need to try it to assess the WAF tho.
@CraigHawker @isdixon at the moment, it’s only in the webclient. I’ve just started (yesterday) adding support for it into the wp app
@CraigHawker @isdixon we’re hoping to support NextPVR and DVBLogic, but we might need extra developers for that
@scottisafool @isdixon the UI is the most important factor for the WAF, but I had real technical issues with DVBLogic when I tried it.
@CraigHawker @isdixon well the live tv stuff will need some interface with the hardware, not sure we’ll be talking directly with it
@scottisafool @isdixon playready errors, no tuners available, etc. from remote and local clients. loved the concept, couldn’t get working.
@scottisafool @isdixon haven’t tried NextPVR. UI doesn’t look great, but could work well for MB3 as middleware.
