Microsoft have talked about the Xbox One being able to control home devices and today we have a bit more information about it. At Gamescom 2013 Microsoft have demonstrated some of the integration features in the new console. Pocket-link had hands on with the Xbox One and they confirmed that the new device will control AV equipment via built-on IR blasters and have a built in library of IR codes. So you should be able to enter your device codes and control your AV kit with your voice or the Xbox controller. We still don’t know how the HDMI pass through is going to work with devices like Sky’s set top box but it’s good to know that home theatre kit can be controlled by it. Wouldn’t it be great if the Xbox One could control all of your devices in the home, we can but dream!
