The MediaPortal team have released a test version of MediaPortal 1.5.0. The Pre-release is designed for the community to test before the final build is made available and has some interesting new features. The new version has improved IPTV features, supporting the latest IPTV standards. It is also adds support for CableCARD tuners for the first time, the support isn’t as full featured as Windows Media Center as it only supports shows tagged “copy freely” but it’s a start. The update also has improved video and TV recording thumbnails and PowerScheduler++ integrated.
This version no longer supports Windows XP but does add it Windows 8.1 support. More details and the download links on the MediaPortal site .
Attached to this news you will find the pre-release version of MediaPortal 1.5.0. Pre-releases are provided as a way for the community to test and give feedback on all the exciting things we have lined up for the next release. We allocate about one month for pre-release testing. In that time we only do bug fixes… and then comes the final release!
