Microsoft Surface RT August’s Tuesday patches have brought updates for the Surface, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 Preview. For the Surface RT running Windows 8 (not the 8.1 Preview) there is a UFI firmware update that fixes audio issues.

August 2013 updates

Windows RT 8.0 updates only:

UEFI firmware update that optimizes the audio experience at low volumes and removes a perceived pulsing in audio volume for some content.

Update to system drivers that enhance stability and reliability.

For Windows RT 8.1 Preview there are three updates.

There is an update for Adobe Flash Player video playback in Windows 8.1 Preview KB2871676

Windows 8.1 Preview supports additional color space management features. Because of an incompatibility between Windows 8.1 Preview and Adobe Flash Player, the color correction setting for videos is sometimes incorrectly set during playback.

The other two updates are for DRM issues in IE and Windows:

KB2875111

An update is available for Windows 8.1 Preview. This update includes fixes for adaptive streaming and Digital Rights Management (DRM) playback features for Internet Explorer 11 Preview in Windows 8.1 Preview.

KB2875636

An update is available for Windows 8.1 Preview. This update includes fixes for adaptive streaming and Digital Rights Management (DRM) playback features in Windows 8.1 Preview.
