If you are looking to put XBMC on your Raspberry Pi there are a few options and one of the distributions I use is XBian. Today Xbian has been updated to version 1.0 beta. The new version includes XBMC Frodo 12.2 and the latest kernel of Linux. There are performance and stability improvements and the file system has been changed from EXT4 to BTRFS which make Xbain operate faster and improves the boot time.

You can get the new version from Xbian.org, also the Xbian team have a nice shiny new logo to go with the new version.

XBian 1.0 Beta 1 will include XBMC Frodo 12.2 by default. XBMC Frodo 12.2 contains a lots of improvements for the Raspberry Pi, for more information please read. We’ve also updated the Linux kernel to the latest version. This increases performance and stability. Furthermore we have fixed a lot of bugs in our xbian-config setting which helps you to set your XBMC and XBian settings. For the more technical minded people of us, we’ve changed the default filesystem from EXT4 to BTRFS. This optimizes the write and read speed and so increases the performance. On top of that, we’ve also reduced the boot time. For all the closed issues/more detailed changelog take a look at our issue tracker.
