Media Browser Classic is a Windows Media Center version for the new Media Browser 3 client. The Media Center addin is designed to bring the Media Browser 3 system to Windows Media Center and have a familiar interface to the Media Browser 2 client.
Media Browser 3 has a central server design where you can centrally manage plugins and all you content and then there are client apps for Android, Windows 8/RT and Windows Phone
The addin is in private beta at the moment and should be opened up to the general public soon.
Luke, the rest of the team and I are very happy to announce that our first MB3 full HTPC client has entered the beta stage. Media Browser Classic was released to a limited beta group this morning.
MB Classic will be a bridge client for those who wish to stay in the WMC environment in order to take advantage of other Media Center features (such as Live TV) or simply wish to keep the familiar interface of MB2. Many of your favorite MB2 themes will be available in MB Classic as well by launch time.
Additionally, we are very pleased with how the server and other remote client testing is progressing. If the MBC beta goes well, we will be opening up the beta program to the general public soon.
