Recently I reviewed Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and found while it was a nice 7 inch tablet it’s screen didn’t compare that well to newer tablets like the Nexus 7. Today Samsung have announced the Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 its latest 7 inch tablet.

The Tab 3 has a 1024 x 600 TFT display and comes in 8GB and 16GB versions. There is a microSD card slot so you can expand the storage and runs Jelly Bean (Android 4.1). Looking at the specs it seems like not that much of a change from the Tab 2, it has the same screen resolution (much lower than the Nexus 7 which runs at 1280×800) with the processor being bumped up from 1GHz dual core to 1.2Ghz dual core.

No price details yet but looking at the spec I can’t see it being that much different than the Tab 2 which starts around £199, maybe Samsung will try and undercut the £159 Nexus 7 and HP’s new Slate 7.
