Microsoft have released a Windows Store app for accessing and connecting a Windows Server. The app called My Server works with Windows 8 or Windows RT and connects to a server running Windows Server 2012 Essentials. With the app you can manage users, devices, alerts and access files on and offline.

The app looks very handy and I thought I would give it a try connecting to my Windows Home Server 2011 but it won’t connect saying a problem with the certificate so it looks like it may be 2012 Essentials only. You can find the free app in the Windows Store.
