Amazon have updated the Kindle app for the Windows Store. The Windows 8 and Windows RT app update notes say “This release includes an in-app store for touch optimized devices along with improvements to the reading and library experiences.” Which is what the previous release note said so no new information but hopefully it will address a couple of the file size related crashes.

The app can be found in the Windows Store for free.

(In-app store is available in English for customers with an Amazon.com account)

Read Kindle books on a beautiful, easy-to-use Windows 8 application. You’ll have access to over 1 million* books in the Kindle Store, including best sellers and new releases. Amazon’s Whispersync technology automatically syncs your furthest page read, bookmarks, notes, and highlights across all your devices that have the Kindle app installed and across any Kindle device. That means you can start reading on one device and pick up where you left off on another device.
