Ceton have renamed the Ceton Companion app to “My Media Center” and have launched a Windows Store app. The renaming is to emphasize that the app works with any tuners and not just Ceton devices and there is a server application for Windows 7 and Windows 8 with clients for iOS, Android, Windows Phone and Windows 8/RT.

The Windows app looks great and works on tablets as well as desktops. There are live tiles showing TV recordings, you can snap the app to the side of the screen and has a nice portrait view. The app costs £3.49 in the Windows Store and if you’re a Media Center user it’s well worth it, here are some of the features:

Start Playback of Recorded TV on HTPC or Extender

Browse Program Grid Guide
Tune channel on HTPC or Extender
