ITV have updated the ITV Player app for iOS. The new version introduces ads on the home page which ITV say is to “keep your ITV Player experience free” and the new version is optimised for the iPhone 5 and iOS6.
In the release notes they say that iOS 4.3 support is going to be withdrawn in January so if you have a device still on 4.3 it’s time to upgrade.

Please be aware that the next release of ITV Player scheduled for January 2013 will require iOS 5. For users on iOS 4.3 we recommend that you upgrade to continue enjoying ITV programmes.
