I have become a bit of a fan of XBMC due to it’s cross platform support especially the Raspberry Pi. There are lots distributions of XBMC available and one that has just been updated is GeeXboX 3.0 a lightweight Linux distro that can run as a live CD.

The distribution is based off XBMC 11 and includes PVR support (including DVB-T) and supports lots of embedded platforms as well as PC Architecture. It currently doesn’t run on the Raspberry Pi support is in the development tree.
