Microsoft are continuing to improve the Kinect for Windows SDK with version 1.5 being released today. The update includes a new seated skeletal tracking system so developers can track a seated users as in near mode as well as the standard mode.

The SDK has been split into the core SDK and a developer toolkit which includes the samples and now includes samples in c++, C# and Visual Basic. There is also a new tool called Kinect Studio a tool for recording and playing back Kinect data for help with developments.

I am looking forward to seeing what developers can do with the SDK, maybe it would be something worth showing off at the user group event.

You can get the SDK from Microsoft
