Microsoft are going to be launching the Windows 8 Consumer Preview at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona February 29th, Microsoft had previously promised a beta of Windows 8 sometime in February so 29th is just about getting it done on time. MWC is all about mobile and so it’s an interesting choice for the event with Microsoft working very hard to show Windows 8 is designed for tablet devices as well as the desktop. Whether Windows Media Center is including on the Consumer Preview we don’t know, a story breaking today was that Media Center won’t be including in this preview but it will be in the final release.
