We haven’t heard much from Embedded Automation for a while but they are back with a new version of mControl their home automation software.

Building on the previous version of mControl version 3 adds support for ZigBee, adds an editor, native iPad/iPhone apps (which are free), mRemote for IR/IP remote control and has a new UI. mControl started as a Windows Media Center addin and has progressed to have a web UI as now native iOS apps.

Today, Embedded Automation released mControl v3 the next generation of their popular Digital Home software. mControl v3 is the culmination of two years of engineering, features many new product features and enhancements, and is the foundation for future innovation in the Digital Home.

· Enhanced database allows for device duplication and nested zones

· New code-based licensing method provides simplified activation

· RESTful API provides a simplified method for building apps around the mControl engine

  1. I might have to upgrade! Looks like WHS is now supported it wasn’t during the mControl v3 beta
