I love my Blackgold BGT3620 Freeview HD card, I did have some issues initially but its spot on now and the best Media Center TV tuner I have ever used. Now they have released details of a new low profile TV tuner the BGT3630. The tuner is best of both worlds by combining Freesat HD and Freeview HD device and takes a single PCI-express slot in a small low profile card. Windows Media Center is great for watching HD TV and I am sure this card is going to be a big seller.

Blackgold say the card is due June / July

  1. Gutted! I’ve been eagerly awaiting this rumoured tuner to come out, but was really hoping it would have 4 tuners – 2 DVB-T2 and 2 DVB-S2. Black Gold already have a card with 2 DVB-T and 2 DVB-S2, so I was hoping this would be an upgrade. I was hoping to be able to add more tuners to my Tranquil iXL media centre which only has one PCI-E slot. Now I’ll have to look at USB options (only single tuner so far) or HD home run (not HD). Don’t really see what advantages this tuner card has – if you have a Freeview feed the current DVB-T2 card gives you 2 tuners already. If you only have a Freesat feed then this card only gives you one.
