Back at CES I met with PacketVideo to talk about Twonky media streaming software and was impressed with Android app that enabled streaming of content to a TV via DLNA (see this video). Back in February they released an iOS version which was updated last week, the new version adds support for generic DLNA servers  so you don’t need a Twonky server to be able to stream content from a PC to an DLNA enabled device.

You can get the app from iTunes priced $2.99

What’s New in Version 2.0.2

• Support for generic DLNA servers
• Access and beam videos stored in your iPhone Photo gallery
• Additional video files supported in the local playback (.mov)
• Displays dialog if you try to browse Photos/Videos and the location is turned off
• Various other bug fixes

  1. I have twonky on my Western Digital storage. And I have ArkMC on my iPad 1. It works fine but mainly for music. The first iPad is not powerful enough to play HD videos. I thing I might need to buy new one.
