Tonight when I got home my Apple TV was offering me an update to version 4.2. This update adds MLB.TV, Dolby Digital 5.1 to Netfix playback, new slideshows, improved on-screen keyboard, AirPlay Photo slideshows and the main feature for me AirPlay for apps and websites.
Airplay for apps and websites means you can stream video from websites to the Apple TV or 3rd party apps to the TV. So you can browse the web on an iPad and when you come across a video you can send it to the Apple TV (as long as it’s not Flash), or an iPad app could send video to the Apple TV. I can see this being great for apps like the BBC iPlayer, it could finally mean I get some use out of my Apple TV
