Last week I wrote about the rumours that Microsoft may reveal some of their Tablet plans and over the last couple of days there are there are more stories about their plans for CES. Bloomberg are reporting that Microsoft will show Windows running on an ARM-based devices but I will suspired if that happens, Microsoft have always pushed Windows Embedded for ARM devices and it’s more likely they will show off Windows Embedded Compact 7 which is due Q1 2011 and CES would be the perfect time to show that off (It was back in June when Windows Embedded Compact 7 was first talked about)

I suspect people looking for Microsoft to show off a new ARM based Windows OS will be disappointed but they may talk about their plans to bring the next version of Windows to the ARM platform. It seems strange that Microsoft are sitting on what could be a great OS to compete with the iPad in the form of Window Phone 7 but for some reason they seem to want to push other platforms

Either way I think it will be important that Microsoft don’t just show off the standard Windows 7 based tablets, after the disappointment with last years HP Slate and TDL will be at Steve Ballmer’s keynote to bring you the news as it happens
