Last month I posted details of a Windows Phone application pitch competition where developers could summit pitches for Windows Phone apps and then Microsoft would develop the winning application.

One of the apps was a Windows Media Center Extender app and thanks partly to our community the app won by a good margin with 1,802 votes.  I thought the winning app automatically gets developed by Microsoft but Stuart looked at the small print where it says

Grand Prize Winner: One winner, selected by a Windows panel of judges from the top 150 Most Viral entries, will win the honor and glory of getting the app they need available as a FREE download on Marketplace, $5,000 and a new Windows Phone 7 device.

So it not guaranteed to be developed and I wouldn’t be surprised if Microsoft pick one of the more trivial apps but considering how much support the Windows Media Center app got I think it should be developed. So come on Microsoft get the app done!

  1. There’s always something in the small print lol ! I can see them picking another easier app to develop as well. Fingers crossed they go with the winning app however?

  2. So I’m guessing that they didn’t choose the extender app then.
At least I’ve not seen one yet.
