  1. Apple are a bunch of unscupulous thieves. The 16Gb Wifi ipad on the Apple store in the US is $499 which converts to £337. The Techradar quoted price for the same device is £429 which converts to $634.12. As our American Cousins say ‘You do the Math’!

  2. It’s actually not as bad as you think, you have to take into account VAT @17.5% which takes it to about £395.00 so we are getting charged about £34.00 more in the UK, seems to be the way with tech but not that bad really

  3. £337 in the US as opposed to £429 in the UK, thats £92 pounds difference , take off VAT and its £75. Shipping freight costs from China are no more to the UK than the US. I’m still not impressed though.

  4. Ok lets get the maths right first its $499 US at today’s exchange rate 1US$ = £0.675310643 so 499 * 0.675310643 = £337.00. Now add on VAT £337 * 1.175 = £396.00

This makes the difference as £429 – £396.00 = £33.00 more expensive, big deal
