Remember the beta Windows Media Center gadget for Windows Sideshw that released back in July? (see the review on the gadget blog) well Microsoft have put out a Release Candidate of the gadget and It looks like it now supports Extenders. The updated version is on Microsoft Connect and the final version will be on the Microsoft gadget site.

A word of warning it is not compatible with the TV pack!

Support for Media Center Extenders:
Extenders are now supported if you are using a SideShow device that can pre-enable the gadgets. The Ricavision Vave100 remote control is an example of a device that pre-enables the Media Center gadgets.
Try this with your Xbox 360 or other extender device and provide us with any feedback. Additional instructions have been added to the Installation Instructions page about using the gadgets with an extender.

  2. Will this work on the Momento Frame? It would be interesting having “Now Playing” being displayed without having the main TV on.

  3. @EZRyder I haven’t tried it but so far I have found on the Momento any gadget that needs a button press is no good
