While I would love a HoloLens I don’t really want to shell out over £2000 for a devices, at the other extreme I have played with Google Cardboard a base phone based VR solution and while the concept is good it is not exactly an elegant solution. The good news is that OEMS are going to be releasing VR headsets that work with Windows 10 starting at $299. The devices will be released in 2017 probably timed with the new Creators Update and will use the same type of 3D engine as Microsoft’s HoloLens.

It is going to be interesting to see what they can do and how different they will be from other headsets.
