A recent update to Microsoft Groove app finally added the ability to edit music files metadata for local stored files so you can edit song names, artists and other data directly from the app. This is great but if you are like me and have all your music stored in OneDrive the app doesn’t give you access to edit any of the data making it much harder to manage your collection. In a comment on Microsoft’s Answers forums Ellen Kilbourne from the Groove team said that they are investigating adding that feature.

The blocker to allowing you to edit metadata for OneDrive content is a technical one that we’re investigating.

Also in the post Microsoft detail some of the changes coming to Groove in the next update which includes Your Groove and Explore now get tracked in the recent plays section and warning about adding duplicate content.
