The Microsoft Band has a UI sensor built into and the tile will tell you how long you can safely stay in the sun for with the current UV levels. This is ok but it doesn’t take into account many of the factors that can affect how fast your will burn. UV for the Microsoft Band is a new app that uses the UV sensor and also has settings for you to enter your skin type, location and what sun screen factor you have applied. So you get a better estimate on how long you can spend in the sun.
The developer says when there is an update to the Band SDK which fixes a notification bug he will add Band notifications to the app.
