Last week at the The Gadget Show Live I came across an interesting solution for laptop users wanting extra screen space. PacketPixels produce a portable monitor solution for laptop that uses high resolution 9.7 inch display running at 2048 x 1536 (iPad screen) and they have a device for clipping the monitor onto a laptop. The screen connects via Thunderbolt or displayport (or via a USB3 converter) and it takes its power from a USB port so you don’t need a special power adapter.

It would be very handy for development work or video editing. In this video I get a demo of the device on a Mac and a PC.
