Microsoft Research have a nice video showing how they used their research technology to develop the new on-screen keyboard in the latest Microsoft Band update. When Microsoft first said they were adding a keyboard to the Band I was very sceptical but having used it I have been impressed how well it worked.
In this video Microsoft Research talk about developing the new on-screen keyboard and Cortana integration on the Microsoft Band.
“A wearable device has very easy access to your attention,” says Tim Paek, who led the team of Microsoft researchers that spearheaded the new productivity features. “If you get an urgent message and you need to respond right away, it can be very inconvenient to rummage around for your phone. With the device on your wrist, you can reply easily and discreetly.”
