Skype on Windows Phone

Microsoft have updated the Windows Phone 8.1 version of Skype adding support for Cortana (Microsoft’s personal assistant). With Cortana you can start a Skype call via a voice command, the Skype blog gives the example “Skype get Lara Kingwell on the screen” which seems a very natural way of doing it, currently Cortana is only available in the US but there are rumours it could turn up here in the UK pretty soon.

The Action Centre integration adds your Skype notification to Action Center so you will see them along with your email, texts and social notifications. Other changes include increased language support (up to 51 languages now) and you can edit your last sent message.

You should be able to find the updated app in the Windows Phone Store.
