Skype on Windows Phone
I just got an update to the Windows Phone version of Skype and in the release notes it says “A new and simpler way to sign in to Skype” which turns out to be they have removed signing in with a Skype account and you can now only sign in with a Windows account in the app. If you just have the one account then it shouldn’t be problem as you can link your Skype account with your Windows account, if you have multiple Skype accounts on your Windows Phone you will need multiple Windows Account.

Other than that version 2.16 has a typing indicator when someone is typing a message to you. Also the mark as read option is easier to find. Skype for Windows Phone is free from the Windows Phone Store.

What’s new?

– A new and simpler way to sign in to Skype. Just use the same Microsoft account you use for your phone. Already got a Skype account? Link it with your Microsoft account and we’ll carry your credit and contacts over.

– See when someone’s typing a message.

– General fixes and improvements.
