Acer’s new 8 inch Windows 8 tablet the Iconia W3 has gone on sale/pre-order in the UK for £329.98. The W3 is the first 8 inch Windows tablet on sale and is interesting because it runs the full Windows 8 as well as being one of the cheapest Windows 8 tablets. The W3 has an Intel Atom Z2760 processor, 2GB ram and 64GB SSD drive which gives 8 hours battery life. Going up against other Windows 8 tablets it seems like a reasonable price for a compact device however compared to an iPad Mini it seems expensive so it depends on your needs on your needs to whether its good value.

Windows 8.1 is going to work much better on smaller devices that Windows 8 and this could be an interesting device to use as a tablet but still have the option of using it with a keyboard and mouse and install your own programs on it.
