Movie Premier is a new movie player app for Windows 8 and Windows RT. The app scans your video folder and will download metadata about the movies where you can browse and play your collection. You can build your own playlists and it has a really nice UI for viewing movie metadata, for example you view details of a movie and then select the actor and it will show all movies in your collection that has the actor in them.
It also has a nice live tile showing what your currently watching.
It doesn’t add any additional codec playback options like Cyberlink’s PowerDVD Mobile does but it does display your movie collection in a nice looking UI. The app is free (but does have some advertising) and available from the Windows Store.
Movie Premier caters to the home entertainment and movie enthusiast who desires to have a Windows 8 movie player and media library browser.
