Video: Cyberlink PowerDVD Mobile running on a Microsoft Surface

While I was with Cyberlink at CES (see my other video)I had a preview of PowerDVD Mobile running on a Microsoft Surface. With Windows RT having limited codec support you need a 3rd party app to enable playback of video formats other than Mp4. With the app you can play MKV files, MPEG2 files and other formats that Windows RT wouldn’t normally play. In theory you should be able to play Windows Media Center Recorded TV files in Windows RT without the need to transcode any files.

The app is currently in testing and should be in the app store soon. In this video we take a look at the app and how it performs on the Surface.
