To get XBMC on the Raspberry Pi I have been switching between OpenELEC and Raspbmc, both have their own strengths and weaknesses. There is a third choice in the form of DarkELEC, DarkELEC is a fork of OpenELEC and the developer say that he aims to remedy some of the flaws in OpenELEC.
The build has a low CPU usage, has built in iPlayer and Demand 5 adding, built in wireless tools and wifi drivers. Over all it looks like a great project and I will be giving it a try over the weekend.

None of the currently available solutions do a perfect job with running XBMC on the Pi, however OpenELEC comes by far the closest, in spite of its locked down nature.
This fork aims to remedy the very few flaws in its implementation and to focus 100% on the Pi, while also sticking to the upstream and incorporating its updates.
