After a long wait my Raspberry Pi has arrived, the board has a huge amount of potential and in this video I take a quick look at the Pi and get it connected up.

  1. Thanks for the video, it really make a difference to see the actual size of the Pi when your handling it.

I noticed that there is no power on/off switch. It just powers on when you connect the mini USB power. So to power off, can you just pull the power and expect that your SD card is not corrupted or do you have to type a shut down ?

I’m guessing there is no sleep option since it just sips power.

Can you setup a cmd file so it just boots straight into the OS ? Can you let me know how many seconds it takes to boot straight in to OS ?

When you get to XBMC, how long does it take to boot straight to the ready screen ?

    Thanks.

    1. There is no power, so your best to shut down the OS from the UI , that way the the card is ok.
I imagine you could boot straight into the OS, that is what XMBC does. I don’t have XMBC yet, I have ordered another SD card so I can give it a try
