MadeforMediaCenter.com is our app store for Windows Media Center addins and has a wide range of addins from Twitter apps to guide data apps, Recipe apps to Airplay apps. Over the weekend I updated the system to support labeling of Windows 8 compatibility.
Developers can go into their applications and set the status of Windows 8 compatibility, the options are works with Windows 8, limited compatibility or not working at all. By default all applications are currently listed as not tested so developers need to go in to the store and update the status.
While there are no features in the Windows 8 version of Windows Media Center the addin model has changed slightly so it does break some addins so this is a good way for developers to inform users about the status of their apps.
Developers just need to sign in and edit their application then users can see the status in the app store.
Currently the 10” Made For Media Center doesn’t work with Windows 8 but we are working on that.

What are the changes to the add-in model that you mention? I’ve not seen anything published
Nothing has been publish but I know Niall had to re-compile under Windows 8 for his addin to work
Thanks Ian. There’s probably a new library version then – there is the same issue between Vista and W7. Personally, I’ve been waiting for a proper media center preview before doing anything.
