The tool I use most for video conversion is HandBrake, it’s great for getting files to the required format for the iPad and I have used it to convert DVRMS files to iPad format as well. One of the limitations was that it wound’t convert WTV files but the latest version 0.9.6 adds support for WTV files and according to Josh Pollard at DMZ it works great with WTV files including files with h.264 video. I am going to try it with Freeview HD files as I couldn’t get them to convert in the past but it looks like it should work.
