There has been a lot of speculation on what Windows Phone 8 (code name Apollo) will look like and whether it will be based on Windows 8 and today many of the features have leaked out. In a post on PocketNow they have details from a leaked video intended for partner which list some interesting features:
- Multi-core processors
- 4 screen resolutions
- microSD card support
- Shared core with Windows 8
- Scrapping of the Zune Desktop app with a companion app being used for syncing
- Skype integration
- Improved camera app
- New business features like BitLocker
It looks like a major step forward if the details are true and the integration of Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8 could put Windows Phone ahead of other platforms. Microsoft haven’t commented on the leak, I imagine that they wish they could kept the lid on the details for now.
