The BBC have an update for the iOS iPlayer application out today. It now supports iPhone and the iPod Touch (previously it was iPad only) which means you can watch the last 7 days BBC content on the devices.

The update enables watching content over 3G which I have tried and it works very well and is really good quality. Also added to this release is Airplay support so you can send TV to an Apple TV, so its a good way of getting TV on to the device. The feature I am waiting for is offline viewing but its great to see the BBC keep investing in the iPad platform, I wonder if there will be a Windows Phone version at time soon?

The app is free from the app store
