Back in June we told you that iTunes Match the new cloud music service coming to iTunes would not be available in the UK until  at least 2012, Apple were unable to negotiate the rights it needed to offer the service in the UK. This may be changing and we could see iTunes Match launch in the UK as soon as next weeks iPhone announcement. CNET say that Apple is close to wrapping up negotiations so that they can announce the international rollout of Match at the iPhone announcement on Tuesday and that the UK would be included in the rollout.

Sources familiar with the discussions between Apple, record companies, and music publishers, say Apple is seeking international music licenses for its iCloud service. The licenses would be similar to those the company has already obtained for U.S. operations, the sources said. If iTunes managers wrap up negotiations in time, they could announce the offering at a Tuesday press event at Apple headquarters in Cupertino, Calif., where the company is expected to roll out the iPhone 5, the next generation of the iconic smartphone.

Some of the countries that could receive access to iCloud include Germany, France, and the United Kingdom, the sources said. Apple is facing a growing number of competitors in the digital music sector, including Amazon, Spotify, and Turntable.fm.

iTunes Match enables you to stream any of your music collection to any of your Apple devices whether purchased from iTunes of not. It works by scanning your entire music collection and making them available from iCloud at 256kbps. The US price has been announced as $24.99 and it would be nice to have the service on offer in the UK as well.
